The Retrievable Bridge Plug(RBP) is a high-pressure packer style bridge plug used for multiple selective zone treating and testing operations. The RBP is designed to set in tension or compression, which makes it ideal for shallow applications to test wellhead for deep, high-pressure applications. The plug is designed with a large internal by-pass to prevent swabbing when running and retrieving. The by-pass closes during the setting of the plug and opens prior to releasing the upper slips to equalize pressure when unsetting.
1.Inspect spring, packing elements and slips for cuts, cracks and shipping damage. Replace any damaged parts.
2.Verify O.D. of packing elements is not larger than O.D. of gage ring.
3.Move control body to confirm tool will move into set and unset position.
PRECAUTIONS AND HANDLING
1.Do not lift tool at spring, slip/slip cage or packing element locations.
2.When running this tool with a packer, make sure the J-slots in the plug, running / retrieving tool, and the packer are all compatible.
3.Most of the component parts are manufactured from heat-treated alloy steel. Therefore, extended exposure to corrosives can be detrimental to the metallurgy. Care in cleaning the tool soon after removal from the well can help extend the life of component parts. Close inspection of the parts is necessary, after removal, to identify any parts, which require replacement.

Take care where the wrench or vise is placed to avoid damage to sealing surfaces.
Do not deform thin sections of mandrels or box threads with an improperly placed wrench or vise.
Always support the free end of the RBP with a shop stand when placed in the vise.
Always replace all elastomer components (o-rings, elements, and seals), shear screws, shear pins, set screws, and backup rings when redressing a RBP. These items are not reusable.• Remove all shear pin and shear screw remnants.
All shear screw and set screw thread holes should be cleaned with the thread taps prior to reassembly.
Use clear grease containing no solids liberally on all components during assembly, unless noted otherwise. The grease eases assembly and protects the internal components against corrosion during storage.
All seal surfaces and seal components must be greased during assembly.
All tubing threads, boxes, and pins should be cleaned by hand with a wire brush and coated with an API thread compound.
Use a straight edge to verify packer slips are below the largest OD of the packer assembly.
Use properly inhibited test fluids to avoid corrosion.
