Brief of LPR - N Tester valve


The LPR-N Tester Valve is a kind of downhole tester valve for the drill stem testing operation. The LPR-N Valve is full-opening annulus pressure-operated valve and acts as the downhole master valve and allows multiple closed-in pressures to be taken in cased holes where a full-opening test string is required.

 

Structure of LPR - N Tester valve

 

The LPR N Valve is composed of three basic sections:

  • Ball Valve Section
  • Power/Nitrogen Section
  • Metering Section

Ball valve operation of  LPR - N Tester valve 

 

The ball valve section contains the ball valve and related mechanical components that rotate the ball.When the tool is activated, the ball is rotated to the open position, allowing the reservoir to flow into the test string. Depending on how the tool is assembled, it can be run in the hole in the closed or open position. If the tool is set up to run in the hole in the open position, the first time pressure is applied and released the tool will shift back into the normal operating mode. In the normal mode, the ball will open when annulus pressure is applied and will close when the pressure is released.

﹡HSE﹡Safety instructions of the Hydraulic Circulating Valve:

 

1. When running each pressure test, you must increase pressure gradually. When the pressure is up to 20MPa, hold on for one minute, then every 10MPa keep it for one minute until the rating pressure;

2. During doing the pressure test, the tool should be placed in the test pit and cover the protecting board on the pressure test plug.

3.During the whole process, make sure the entire test operator keep away from plug and joint which may lapse.

4.Test area should set isolation, others except operator not allowed to enter test area.

       5.If there is anybody in the test area, it should set isolation, avoiding test production fly off the test area.
