Brief of Lock Open Tester Valve
The Lock Open Tester Valve is the kind of full bore tester valve, which is an annulus pressure controlled to operate the ball valve. During the cased hole testing and perforating operations, the lock open tester valve is designed to allow multiple cycles .The tester valve is fully balanced to annulus pressure and will be kept in the closed position while tripping in hole.

Application of the Lock Open Tester Valve
* Made of the alloy steel, the Lock Open Tester Valve is applied for standard well testing operation, work in H2S above 175oF according to NACE MR0175.
* Made of the Inconel steel, the Lock Open Tester Valve is applied for full H2S well testing operation.
* Tubing perforating opeation.

Operation of the Lock Open Tester Valve
The lock open tester valve is designed with a spring loaded normally closed ball valve.The spring force holds the ball valve in the closed position, and the lock open tester valve is opened and kept open by applying additional pressure to the annulus. When applied annulus pressure is released, the ball valve will be closed. Fluid at hydrostatic pressure is trapped behind the nitrogen chamber acting against a piston, compressing the nitrogen to hydrostatic pressure. The nitrogen then acts against the lower piston, the same hydrostatic pressure that is acting against the lower piston is also passing through pressure ports, located in the upper outer housing acting against the upper piston. Both the upper and lower piston have the same cross-sectional area, thus keeping the ball valve balanced
