5" 15000 PSI Downhole Select Tester Valve Full H2S Well Testing Service
Introudction of DST Select tester valve
The select tester valve is the lock open tester valve with a full opening design and operated by annulus pressure which is used drill stem testing operation in cased holes. The tester valve is able to take multiple downhole closures where pipe manipulation is restricted, and the tool can be locked open and then
returned to the normal operating sequence at any time
The select tester valve is composed of four basic sections: ball valve section, nitrogen section, upper hydraulic section, and the metering section.
Features of the DST tester valve
* The select tester valve is able to lock the ball valve in the open position at any point during the string
test operation
* With metal to metal seal for exceptional gas-holding capabilities
* The select tester valve made of Inconel alloy steel can work in the Full H2S service
* The tool can be locked open to allow operation of other services, including coil tubing, wire line,
slick line and well kill operations

Operation of the tester valve
Under normal operating conditions the tool would be run in the well in the closed position. Once the packer is set, pressure is applied to the annulus to operate the tester valve.
The select tester valve has a spring loaded normally closed ball valve. Spring force holds the valve in the closed position. By applying additional pressure to the annulus, the tester valve is opened and maintained open . When applied annulus pressure is released, the ball valve will close. Fluid at hydrostatic pressure is trapped behind the nitrogen chamber acting against a piston, compressing the nitrogen to hydrostatic pressure. The nitrogen then acts against the lower piston, the same hydrostatic pressure that is acting against the lower piston is also passing through pressure ports, located in the upper outer housing acting against the upper piston. Both the upper and lower piston have the same cross-sectional area, thus keeping the ball valve balanced.
