Operating the Select Tester Valve With The RD Safety Circulating Valve
When running the Select Tester Valve with an RD Safety Circulating Valv in the same tool string operating, the selection of the rupture disk is important. It should be noted that rupture disk should be high enough to allow for the operation of the SELECT Tester Valve.
The pressure required to lock the tester valve open and re-activate it is 1,300 psi + the normal operating pressure, example:
Well Conditions - HYD = 5000 psi BHT = 225
Operating Pressure (from Table) = 987 psi
To lock the tool in the open position, the operating pressure is:
normal operating pressure + 1300 psi = 987 + 1300 = 2287 psi
The Rupture Disc Circulating Valve should be set 1000 psi above the maximum pressure used to operate the tester valve. In the example above the RD Valve should be set to operate at 3287psi above hydrostatic.
Assembly Instructions of the downhole tester valve
After a job the select tester valve should be completely disassembled and cleaned. Visually inspect all sealing surfaces and threaded connections for damage. Any damaged components found that would adversely effect the operation of the tool should be replaced.
