How to Operate the RD safety circulating valve
When used as the primary reversing valve, the RD Safety Circulating Valve is run above the tester valve in the tool string. When the RD Safety Circulating Valve is run in this position, formation fluids become
trapped between its ball valve and the ball valve in the tool string’s test valve. A drain valve should be
placed between these tools so that any trapped pressure can be safely vented at the surface. Place a drain valve below the RD Safety Circulating Valve when a closed valve is run below this tool.
And the operation pressure of the ruptrue disk in the RD safety circulating must be calculated for selecting the proper rupture disk before using the RD safety circulating valve. To work out the pressure, it will require information of mud weight, testing depth, bottom hole temperature, and maximum annulus pressure.
