Gas Well Downhole Tester Valve High Pressure APR Tools For Drill Stem Testing
The donwnhole tester valve is used to drill stem testing operation in oil and gas well. The downhole tester valve we manufactured is the Halliburton select tester valve, which is a full opening, annulus pressure operated high pressure tester valves.
Structure of the Downhole Tester Valve
The select tester valve is composed of four basic sections; ball valve section, upper hydraulic section, nitrogen section and the metering section.
* The ball valve section contains the ball valve and the mechanism that rotates the ball when the tool is activated; the ball is rotated to the open position allowing the reservoir to flow into the testing string.
* The upper hydraulic section is contained between the upper annulus ports and the nitrogen filler valve. The critical part of this section is the metering (power) cartridge and selector.
* The metering section is the metering cartridge that provides the area that the operating pressure acts over to open the valve. The metering cartridge has two parallel flow paths through it, Each path only allows fluid to move in a single direction.
* The nitrogen section is composed of the nitrogen case, nitrogen mandrel, floating piston and nitrogen filler valve. The nitrogen acts as an adjustable spring and provides the force needed to close the ball valve. The nitrogen section is charged at the surface to a predetermined pressure according to surface temperature, bottom hole temperature and hydrostatic pressure. These values do not have to be exact because the floating piston allows the tool to compensate for small inaccuracies (approximately 10%).
