Multi Flow Evaluator Downhole Packer Test Equipment Corrosion Resistance
Introduction of Open Hole MFE Test
In order to illustrate the working of the MFE system of tools, a complete operation will be described in which a step by step sequence of a MFE test is included to relate the position of the tool to the effect of the well bore and formation, Figure will be used for illustration.
Specification of Open Hole Multi-Flow Evaluator

Constructure of Open Hole Multi-Flow Evaluator
The MFE consists of three basic sections: indexing, delay, and sampling. Each of these sections will be described in detail below.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Description of a Single Packer Test
The string is run in the hole with the MFE closed to prevent drilling fluid from entering the drill stem. The MFE By-Pass is locked open, allowing fluid to by-pass through the Full Bore Casing Packer to the annulus.
To close the MFE for a shut-in, the drill stem is lifted approximately 2,000 pounds tension is applied against the MFE (following a free-point on the rig weight indicator) and then lowered to apply weight back on the system. The MFE Hydrostatic Bias prevents the by-pass from opening and helps keep the packer set during this lifting operation. For detailed discussion of the bias see the section entitled “Operation Loads”. When closing the MFE testing valve, no “drop” or “fall” of the drill pipe occurs, which is an indication that the valve is closed.
To re-open the MFE for a flow period the drill stem is again lifted until approximately 2,000 pounds tension is applied (following a free-point on the rig weight indicator) and then lowered. After a time delay, a one inch free fall will again give an indication that the tool is open.
